Student of Law and Politics at Glasgow University

Alan Macdonald is a student, currently studying post-graduate Law at Glasgow University.

At the University he participates in Parliamentary debates and sits on the board of the Dialectic Society, which organises the social aspect of the debates. Prior to University he was a pupil at Hermitage Academy in Helensburgh. In his final year there he was elected to the position of School Captain, representing pupils on the School Board and at various functions outwith the school. For two years he was the elected student representative on the Helensburgh Community Council. He sat as a full member of the Council, where his role was to ascertain, and to articulate, the views of the town’s younger people. Alan joined the Broadcasting Council for Scotland on 1 July 2001.
